GOT A TIP?

Please reach out on [Signal] +44 7466229071 or man1sha@protonmail.com if you have any story ideas, tips, leads or information.

I have a lot of experience working with sources in various high-risk states (Saudi Arabia, Iran, Russia, China, Syria), and will do my best to always protect you. If you are worried about surveillance in general, you should take precautions. Here are a few tactics for making contact:

CHAT MESSENGERS

  • Signal is the gold-standard for encrypted communications, message me on +44 7466229071 after downloading it here: signal.org/download. When you add my number to your contacts, I'll pop up as available on Signal. If you don't want my number in your contacts, you can message directly by typing my number into the Signal search box so it gives you the option to click "New conversation with +44 7466229071”. Signal keeps a record of when an account is set up and the phone number used, which can be sensitive information.

  • I do not recommend Whatsapp, Telegram or text messages for sensitive communications.

VPN

  • Please download and use a VPN before navigating to my Guardian PGP link or Protonmail. ProtonVPN has a free and safe option.

EMAIL

  • You can securely reach me on: man1sha@protonmail.com . Protonmail is end-to-end encrypted only if you are also using a protonmail account, and the email subject lines aren’t encrypted so please use something mundane.
Protonmail accounts are free and easy to create, and do not involve a phone number for registration, so you can protect your identity. Get one here.

  • You can also email me at manisha.ganguly[at]theguardian.com using PGP, my public key is here. Please go here first for a guide on secure communications with the Guardian.

Securedrop

  • If you wish to hand over documents anonymously, you can use the Guardian’s Securedrop. The link has a guide on how you can do this. The SecureDrop software has been through independent security reviews to ensure that it meets stringent confidentiality and anti-leakage requirements.
